Golden City, MO to Pittsburg, KS

Our sleep in the city park was not the best so we got up a little later then we wanted to.  We then went down the street to Cooky’s, as we had been told that is the place to stop to eat.  We got breakfast and met James and his father out for a pre-father’s day breakfast.  The food was delicious.

We were excited to enter Kansas and take a picture of the sign.  This was our first indication that Kansas is windy.

We got to Pittsburg, KS and we were HOT and very tired.  We stopped by the community park and there was a large swimming pool.

We debated paying almost $5 per person to swim, but decided to go to the Comfort Inn instead where there was a pool.  The hot tub was out of order but we were able to go across the parking lot to the Holiday Inn Express and use theirs instead.  We went down the street to Applebee’s for dinner and got some groceries at Walmart.   We then turned in to get some good sleep.
